On the one hand, the UN General Assembly is going to discuss an immediate ceasefire for the sake of humanity today. On the other hand, since late last night, the Israeli army launched more intensive attacks on various areas of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

According to the Palestinian Authority, at least 24 Palestinians were killed in the Israeli missile attack on the town of Rafah on the border with Egypt in the early hours of this morning. At least seven children and five women were among the dead. In addition to this, the Israeli forces have been conducting a strong search operation in Jenin in the West Bank since this morning. At least 4 people are reported to have died during that operation. The attack started in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza from midnight yesterday. At least 2 Palestinians died there, the administration said. According to the private sector, that number is 20.

Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Galant said yesterday that their forces have no intention of remaining permanently in the Gaza Strip. However, the country’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been saying the complete opposite of the Defense Minister. He claimed that no matter when the war ends, the Israeli military will never leave Gaza. Netanyahu has even hinted at a civilian administration in Gaza despite strong Palestinian resistance.

In an interview with a local media outlet, Netanyahu made it clear that no matter how much international pressure comes upon him, he will not cede control of Gaza to anyone else.

In addition to areas like Rafah, Khan Younis, the Israeli forces are carrying out vigorous search operations in various areas like Bethlehem, Ramallah, Nablus, Tubas. The complaint of the common people of Palestine is that the Israeli forces are arbitrarily oppressing them without any resistance.
