According to the police, the gunman is a student of the art department of the university. His bullet-riddled body was found in the arts department. The age of the student is twenty four years. He lived in a village about 21 kilometers from Prague. Incidentally, the gunman’s father was found dead before the attack on the university that day. Initially, the police think that this attack has no connection with international terrorism. The student may have thought of carrying out this attack in the style of gun attacks in other countries. But why?

Since the independent Czech Republic was formed 30 years ago, there has never been such a large-scale attack by eastern gunmen in the country. In 2015, a man opened fire at a Czech restaurant, killing eight people.

After the incident of this day, several pictures and videos spread on social media. Their authenticity could not be verified. In the picture, it can be seen that some people are hanging dangerously from the rafters of a house. Probably to escape from the gunman. Panic spread beyond the university campus to the streets of Prague. In the video, people are running on stone-paved roads and stairs. Joey Hyland, 18, who was on holiday in Prague, said: “All of a sudden, people were running. The police were shouting, ‘Run’. Somehow get back to the hotel.” The Czech Prime Minister canceled his foreign trip after the incident.
