Apprentice in Mumbai Naval Dockyard. Dockyard Apprentice School, Naval Dockyard, Mumbai will provide apprenticeship training to 296 youth. As per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, one and two years training will be given in various trades. Those who have taken this training earlier or are currently involved in any such training, will not apply again. A stipend will be available at fixed rate every month during training.
One year training will be in all these trades: Electrician 40 (General 24, Scheduled Caste 4, Scheduled Tribe 4, OBC 8). Fitter 50 (General 30, Scheduled Caste 5, Scheduled Tribe 5, OBC 10). Two years of training will be in all these trades: Rigger 12 (General 8, Scheduled Caste 1, Scheduled Tribe 1, OBC 2).
Seats will be reserved for physically challenged, ex-servicemen and serving servicemen or children of servicemen killed or injured in service.
Educational Qualification: NCVT or SCVT recognized ITI course pass in related or equivalent trade. Plumber for Pipe Fitter, Carpenter for Shipwright (Wood), Sewing Technology or Dress Making for Tailor, Information Technology and Electronics Systems Maintenance for Information and Communication Technology System Maintenance and Fitter Trade for Shipwright (Steel)will be acceptable.Class eight pass in rigger. Candidates must have obtained pass marks in all cases. Age: Must be at least 14 years.
Physical Measurements: Height 150 cm. The chest should be able to inflate at least 5 cm. Weight should be at least 45 kg. Vision: 6/6 in one eye, 6/9 in other eye.
Candidates will be selected through written test and interview. The written test will consist of objective type multiple choice questions on General Science (35 Marks), Mathematics (Numerical Aptitude) (35 Marks) and General Awareness (30 Marks). Time is 2 hours. Qualified candidates will be interviewed.
