Many types of artificial sweeteners are now available in the market. Sucralose, Aspartame, Neotame, Saccharin etc. Many people think that they are created to mix in tea. But it is not. They are used to make various sweets, drinks, cakes etc. Diabetics also use this artificial sweetener in daily cooking.
The rationale for using artificial sweeteners is that adding them to foods will taste sweet, but not contain the calories of sugar. As a result, our senses will be satisfied, but sugar-induced weight gain or blood sugar spikes will not occur. But this is always our body
The numbers don’t match. As a result, scientific tests have shown that artificial sweeteners do not actually reduce weight. Instead, a 2016 Australian study found that some animals experienced an increase in appetite after consuming artificial sweeteners. As a result, overall food intake increases and weight may increase! I mentioned Sucralose earlier. There is an interesting story behind the discovery of this artificial sweetener like saccharin. Do you know how saccharin was discovered? In 1879, an American researcher named Constantine Fallberg went to lunch without washing his hands while working at John Hopkins. That day he saw that what he was eating tasted sweet. Then he found out what last chemical he had worked with before lunch. Thus in 1976, a young Indian researcher named Shashikant Phadnis worked in London. was doing One day his guide asked him to do a new chemical test. The guide said to test, Shashikant thought taste! He did not know that the new chemical in the mouth saw that very sweet! That new chemical was sucralose. Now that’s a billion dollar business. However, sucralose is stable even at extreme temperatures. As a result, it can be used in cooking.
A new artificial sweetener called stevia has come into the market these days. It is made from the sap of a plant of the South American sunflower family. It is widely used in various foods including soft drinks.
Many diabetics are addicted to sweets. They think that since they are eating artificial sweeteners, they can eat as much as they want. I don’t have sugar, what do you think? But it is not. There is a limit to how much of these artificial chemicals can be consumed throughout the day. If you eat more than that, it will harm your body. So even if there is no sugar, these artificial sweeteners should be consumed in moderation.
So remember that it is not good to eat too much artificial sweetener. And it’s not a magic pill that will make you lose weight. Sweating is the only way to lose weight.
