China's solar power plant in space

China’s solar power plant in space

China’s solar power plant in space. We have always neglected natural energy sources like wind or solar energy. But in the future, solar energy will become the source of all energy on earth. The Sun has the power to power multiple planets like our Earth. But we could not use his learning. Only a handful of countries in the whole world are conducting various researches to utilize solar energy. China has taken the leading role among these countries. This neighboring country of ours has taken initiatives to build a solar power plant in space. China wants to use solar energy to generate electricity and send it to the world. But how is this possible? China’s space scientists said that solar energy will be sent from space to certain places in that country through rays. To do this work, China will send an artificial satellite or spacecraft into space by 2028. The spacecraft will orbit the earth from a distance of about 400 km. At that time, solar energy will be converted into microwaves in space and sent to a specific location or power plant. The laser beam will be converted back into solar power.

The news was published in the Morning Post, a popular newspaper in southern China, and the Chinese Journal of Science and Technology. However, China’s initiative to utilize solar energy is not new. The US space agency NASA has been trying to create this same project for almost two decades. However, NASA was not very enthusiastic about this. This time when China announced this new project, NASA stepped up to beat them. For this, America will spend about 1600 crore rupees by 2035. NASA is working on how to convert solar energy into laser beams and send them to certain places on Earth. According to NASA, at least 99 percent of sunlight is available in space than on Earth. NASA wants to use this sunlight to generate electricity. Later, the researchers want to turn it into a laser beam and send it to the earth. If this research is successful, it will be a powerful step in building a better world. Laser beams can be sent from space 24 hours a day to certain places on Earth. In this, no natural calamities like storms and rains will stand in the way of sending these rays. Because these things don’t matter in space. And there is no matter of the rising of the sun or the end of the sun.

Chinese professor Dong Siui said that sending high-powered microwaves from space to Earth would require powerful antennas. It must be at least several thousand meters long. A 276-foot-tall tower has already been built on China’s Jidian University campus. Through which high power microwaves sent from space will be received. If the project is successful, there will be no shortage of electricity in the world in the future.

Scientists have invented a liquid solar energy system to store solar energy. They claim that this method can retain electrical energy for 18 years. In 2017, researchers at Chelmsford University of Technology in Sweden were able to capture solar energy using the molecular solar thermal method. It was effective for a short time. Their method has been improved by researchers from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China.

They have developed a compact thermoelectric generator. It can recycle stored electrical energy. They have made a special system to use carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen molecules. With these they made a kind of liquid substance. Sunlight falling on that substance causes the molecules in it to rearrange and change shape. This change turns molecules into energy-conserving isomers. And that may have stored electricity. The compact thermoelectric generator is essentially a very thin chip. Which is usually used to power smartphones or headphones. Kasper Moth Poulsen, head of the research team at Chelmsford University of Technology, said this is a new step in the transition from solar energy to electricity.
