Do women live longer than men? Studies show that among all mammals, females live longer than males 5 . Of course, the human race also falls into this. Long-term studies have strongly demonstrated that girls generally live longer than men.
In 1800, life expectancy was 31 years for men and 33 years for women. Currently, it has increased to 83.5 years for women and 79.5 years for men. In both cases, women were found to live 5 percent more years than men. There is certainly a scientific reason for the hair-raising analysis that has been going on for so many years.
Earlier it was thought that men moved towards early death due to their pressure to earn a living and unrestrained lifestyle. However, researchers cannot accept this reason now. That is because it is now seen that women do not work less than men. Men and women are participating almost equally in all professions.
In today’s society, in many cases, women also live intemperate lives. So the researchers could not accept this argument. Because male mammals other than humans do not smoke or drink alcohol, they have been shown to have shorter life spans than females of that species.
However, everyone agrees that women are more health conscious than men. Women work, walk and exercise more. They are also more conscious than men about food and are careful about body care. This assumption is not true for all women, but the researchers believe that these arguments cannot be ruled out in the case of women living longer in most countries.
Male and female body structure is also different and they also have genetic variation. Females have two X X (XX) chromosomes and males have one X (X) and one Y (Y) chromosome. So for women to have two X chromosomes, if there is a problem with the X chromosome genes inside their body, the process will immediately start from the other X chromosome gene.
In males, on the other hand, there is no way to correct any X chromosome abnormalities. Because of this, men can develop various problems in the body and the chances of death from it increase compared to women.
Recently, a group of researchers from the University of Lyon in France conducted a long study on about 101 different species of mammals. They found that among the animals, women lived longer than men. In this regard, different types of information are available for different species. Women of all races live on average 18.6 percent longer than men.
There are some differences in body composition between women and men. A hormone called testosterone is responsible for the mustache, beard and tall stature of men. As this hormone gives man masculinity, it is also responsible for the short life of men.
A recent study of court clerks in Korea found that testosterone plays a major role in men’s life expectancy being shorter than women’s. Korean scientist Hannan Park selected 81 eunuchs whose testicles had been removed before puberty from the nineteenth-century records of the Korean Empirical Code. Studies on them have shown that they lived up to about 70 years of age. Whereas other general workers enjoyed a life expectancy of roughly 50 years. The study also found that they were about 130 times more likely than other average centenarian Korean men. There is clear evidence that testosterone shortens lifespan. Any disturbance in this hormone can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, various infections and even cancer.
Testosterone is exactly what boosts strength during male bodybuilding. But over time it gradually starts to damage the body. starts to hurt. On the other hand, during the formation of the female body, the strength increases, but later on, the estrogen hormone is gradually found in the body. Their life expectancy is already much longer due to the lack of testosterone. Along with that, this antioxidant hormone estrogen can protect the body from all harmful substances. It is called the ‘elixir of youth’. Maybe this is nature’s great gift to give women the ability to bear children. Women are more protected to have this estrogen and it is the main reason why they live longer than men.
Physical differences between men and women are responsible for the variation in life expectancy. All these data have been researched for years but researchers have not yet found the answer. The exact reason why women live longer than men may be discovered in the near future. And this discovery will change the direction of many questions related to human lifespan.
