Against the background of the Israel-Hamas war, the seeds of anti-Semitism have begun to spread anew in some parts of America’s universities. University authorities are aware of the matter. University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill and MIT’s Sally Kornbluth were called to speak with Claudine on Tuesday in the US Congress. There he was asked whether calling for the genocide of Jews violated university rules. “It depends on the context,” says Claudine, not a straight ‘yes’.

These North American Jewish organizations of Claudine did not take well at all. “I’m sorry,” Claudine later said in the Harvard Crimson, Harvard’s own student newspaperWhen talking hurts, there’s nothing to do but repent.” Claudine said she wanted to detail what authorities are doing to stop anti-Semitism in CongressBut in doing so, Claudine admits, “it has not been made clear that there is no place for anti-Semitism in our university.”

Claudine is not alone, however. Pennsylvania (UPEN) Magill is also in trouble. He also did not clearly tell the Congress whether action will be taken against the accused students. A former businessman of the university has threatened to withdraw his grant from the university because of this. That man, Ross Stephens, is the CEO of a trading firm called Stone Ridge Assets. He gave 10 million dollars in financial aid to the university. He said he will withdraw it now. He claims, there is ‘certain basis’ behind this decision. He also demanded the removal of Magill. When asked about his decision, a university spokesperson said, “We cannot comment on individual decisions of grantees.
